Don Villanueva is an Assurance Manager at Sorren, where he provides audit and assurance services for for-profit organizations, with a primary focus on manufacturing and technology-driven companies. With more than eight years of public accounting experience, Don supports clients through audits, reviews, and compilations, helping them navigate complex accounting requirements, strengthen financial reporting, and remain compliant with confidence.
Don brings deep technical expertise to his work, including specialized experience in revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), and credit loss accounting (ASC 326). Prior to joining Sorren, he served as an Audit Manager at EY in San Francisco, where he led audits for both private and public SaaS technology companies under U.S. GAAS and PCAOB standards, including full SOX 404 engagements. He is known for his ability to apply technical standards in practical ways, including leveraging data analytics to improve risk identification, audit quality, and efficiency for clients.
Outside of work, he enjoys reading, playing guitar, and volunteering with SECASPI, an organization dedicated to rescuing and caring for dogs in the Philippines. Don and his wife, Reinali, are raising their son, Franco, and enjoy spending time together as a family.
